Plus, we have some of the best nightlife in Italy (and that’s saying something!).
So, come along with me as we explore the best of Milan. I promise to make it a fun and unforgettable journey. From the charming cafes in the Brera district to the vibrant Navigli nightlife scene, there’s something for everyone in this amazing city. So put on your walking shoes and let’s go!

Welcome to Milano

MORNING

Buongiorno, Milano!

Let’s start your day the right way with a true Milanese breakfast: a cappuccino and a cornetto at one of the cafes in the charming Brera district. Trust me, this is not your average breakfast – it’s a piece of heaven on a plate.

After breakfast, take a walk to the Duomo di Milano, the heart of the city, and the largest Gothic cathedral in Italy. This magnificent building is a true masterpiece of architecture and artistry, and it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in Milan. Take a stroll around the cathedral’s beautiful exterior and then step inside to explore its impressive interior, which features stunning frescoes, stained glass windows, and intricate details.

But wait, there’s more! If you have time, I highly suggest buying tickets to go up to the rooftop of the Duomo for a breathtaking view of the city. You’ll also see the stunning 3,400 statues – one of which is “la Madonnina,” the symbol of Milan

Take a break at a local cafe, by walking through the impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This stunning shopping arcade is one of the world’s oldest shopping malls, and it’s home to some of the most exclusive and luxurious shops in Milan. Admire the beautiful architecture, take in the stunning glass dome, and snap a few photos of the mosaic floors before making your way to the nearby the nearby Piazza della Scala, one of the most famous and historic squares in Milan.

This elegant square is home to the Teatro alla Scala, one of the most important opera houses in the world, a list at the Museum would allow you to see the magnificent stage

After a morning of sightseeing, you’ll be ready for a break, and there’s no better way to relax than with a delicious coffee at one of Milan’s many cafes. Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional Italian espresso or a creamy cappuccino, you’ll find the perfect spot to enjoy a mid-morning break and recharge for the rest of your day.

AFTERNOON

After visiting the Duomo, Galleria and la Scala head to the Castello Sforzesco.
As you walk towards the castle, take in the bustling atmosphere of Milan’s city center, Via Dante with its many historic landmarks, cafes, and shops.

It was originally built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, a powerful condottiero who ruled Milan and its territories. Sforza commissioned the castle as a symbol of his power and a residence for his family.

Over the centuries, Castello Sforzesco underwent numerous renovations and expansions, and it was used by many different rulers and families as a residence, military fortress, and political center. During the 19th century, the castle was transformed into a museum, and it became one of the most important cultural institutions in the city. Today, Castello Sforzesco is one of Milan’s most popular tourist attractions, and it is a must-visit destination.

The castle is home to several museums and collections. It is a repository of some of the most important and valuable works of art in Italy. Stroll through the castle’s lush gardens and admire the stunning architecture before exploring its museums and art collections.

Parco Sempione, is a large park that is adjacent to Castello Sforzesco. It covers an area of over 95 acres and is one of the largest parks in Milan. Parco Sempione is home to several notable landmarks, including the Arco della Pace, a large neoclassical arch that was built to celebrate peace after the Napoleonic Wars.

Visitors to Parco Sempione can enjoy a peaceful walk through the lush gardens, take a jog or bike ride along the park’s many paths, or relax with a picnic in one of the park’s many open spaces. The park is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and to enjoy a moment of tranquility and relaxation.

Instead of Parco Sempione, if you’ve booked your ticket in advance,  I recommend visiting Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. The whole city is full of works and references to Leonardo, but obviously his most important work is The Last Supper. Remember to book your ticket weeks or even months in advance, as only a few people at a time are allowed to enter to preserve the artwork

EVENING

As the sun begins to set, it’s time to head to one of Milan’s trendiest neighborhoods – Navigli.

This vibrant district is famous for its canals and lively nightlife, making it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious dinner and a drink (or two… or three). or just for an Aperitivo, my favorite? Negroni!!

Navigli is home to some of the best restaurants and bars in Milan, so you’re sure to find something that tickles your taste buds. And if you’re looking for a true Milanese dish, you have to try the risotto alla Milanese – made with saffron and Parmesan cheese!!

Milan truly has something for everyone, and I hope this guide has given you a taste of what makes it so special. Plus, one of the best parts about exploring the city is that you don’t need a car – just use the Metropolitana (subway) and walk to cover a lot of ground.

Milan is a city that will leave a lasting impression on you. So what are you waiting for?
